StatelessID

Cancel

Canceling ends your subscription at the close of the current billing period. You keep full access until that date. Afterward the account enters a short read-only window, then closes permanently.

How to cancel

Open account settings and find the subscription section. Choose cancel subscription and confirm when prompted. The confirmation shows the exact date your current period ends. That date is when billing stops and active counting stops. Cancellation does not take effect the moment you click — it schedules the end for period close.

Until the period ends, nothing about daily use changes. Your sites keep counting within the visit pool. Your access key still opens the dashboard. Your site keys still accept beacons. You are simply marked as not renewing when the current cycle completes.

If you change your mind before the period ends, reactivate from account settings. As long as the period is still active, the scheduled cancellation can be reversed and renewal continues normally. After the period ends and the account leaves active status, returning requires a new subscription from /pricing with a new access key.

What happens when the period ends

At period close after a cancellation, counting stops immediately. No new visits are recorded. The account then enters a read-only grace window shown in the cancellation confirmation. During that window you may log in with your access key, view boards, and copy figures you want to keep. You cannot create sites, delete sites, change filters, or regenerate keys while read-only.

The grace window is short and fixed. It exists so you can note totals, referrer breakdowns, and trends manually. There is no CSV export and no extension request. When the window closes, the account and all associated data are deleted permanently.

Deletion includes site registrations, historical counts, settings, and the access key itself. StatelessID does not retain analytics archives after closure. Your own website files — including any script tags still installed — are untouched on your server. Only the StatelessID account record is removed.

Script tags and site keys through cancellation

Site keys remain valid through the end of the paid period. Pages with the script installed continue to send beacons that count until period close. During the read-only window, keys are recognized but beacons are not stored. After closure, keys deactivate and beacons are dropped silently.

Leaving an old tag installed after closure causes a small pointless network request on each page load. It does not break the page and does not expose data. Removing the tag from templates is still good housekeeping once you know you will not return.

If you want counting to stop before period end while keeping the subscription paid through that date, remove the script from your pages. That stops beacons without canceling billing. Canceling stops renewal; removing the tag stops measurement early.

Returning after you cancel

A new subscription always starts fresh at /pricing. You receive a new access key at checkout. Prior board history does not transfer because it was deleted at closure. Register sites again and install new site keys on every hostname you want to track.

If the read-only window is still open on the old account when you start anew, the two accounts are separate. You may log into the old key to copy legacy figures while simultaneously building the new account. Do not confuse the keys — each opens a different record.

Signup may be unavailable if the platform has reached its customer cap. /pricing will show that state honestly. If signup is closed, you cannot recreate an account until capacity opens. Cancellation therefore deserves the same seriousness as any irreversible data decision.

Troubleshooting

If you canceled and want to undo it, open account settings before the period end date and use the reactivation control. If no pending cancellation appears, confirm you are logged in with the access key for the account you canceled.

If you lost access earlier than the grace window suggested, the period may have ended sooner than you thought or a renewal payment issue may have changed state. Contact support with your access key and the approximate cancellation date.
