Quota
Your account has a monthly visit cap. The board shows how much of that cap has been used this cycle and how many visits remain. When the cap is reached, new beacons are soft-stopped until the next cycle begins.
What the cap covers
Every accepted page view beacon that passes the bot filter, the country allowlist check, and the event-limit check counts against your monthly cap. Beacons that are dropped at any earlier filter stage — because the request looked like a bot, came from a country outside your allowlist, or exceeded the per-minute rate limit — do not count against the cap.
The cap is shared across all domains registered to your account. If you have two domains, their combined page views draw from the same monthly total. The cycle starts and ends on the billing anniversary dates, not on the calendar month.
The dashboard shows your cap usage in two places. The Cycle left metric tile shows remaining visits and the cap total as a denominator. The quota bar just below the area chart shows the percentage used as a filled bar, so you can see at a glance how full the bucket is.
What happens at the cap
When counted visits for the cycle reach your cap, the script on your site continues to fire beacons normally, but the collector records a quota drop rather than adding to the count. No data is lost from your perspective — the drop is logged in the filter-impact panel. The board totals stop rising, but the script never throws an error to your visitors.
At the start of the next cycle, the cap resets to the full monthly amount and collection resumes automatically. You do not need to do anything to unblock it. If you consistently reach the cap before the end of your cycle, see the Pricing page for your options.
The soft-stop is intentional. StatelessID does not silently count past the cap and then invoice you for overages. What you pay for is fixed, and the counter stops at the agreed limit. Drops that occurred at the quota boundary are visible in the filter-impact panel.
Reading the cycle left tile
The Cycle left tile displays two numbers: the visits remaining and the cap total. Below those numbers, a delta note compares this cycle's count to the same period in the previous cycle. A positive delta means you are tracking above last month's pace. A negative delta means this month is slower so far.
The delta is shown as a percentage change relative to the previous cycle count at the same point in time, not relative to the cap. A delta of +20% means you have 20% more page views this cycle compared with where you were at this same day in the previous cycle.
If the tile shows 0 remaining and the delta note shows a large positive, you may have reached the cap earlier this cycle than last. Check the filter-impact panel to see when quota drops began and whether the drop count is significant.
The quota bar
The quota bar appears just below the area chart. It fills from left to right as your cycle count increases relative to the cap. The percentage is recalculated on every board load from the current cycle count and the cap. The bar is a visual aid only — it does not update in real time without a page reload.
When the bar is near or at 100%, the Cycle left tile will show a small remaining count or zero. The bar does not turn a warning colour unless it is completely full, at which point it reflects that new beacons are being soft-stopped. You can reload the board at any time to get the latest percentage.
Drops that are not quota drops
The filter-impact panel distinguishes four kinds of drops: bot or agent drops, country allowlist drops, event-limit drops, and quota drops. Only quota drops affect the Cycle left count. Bot drops, country drops, and event-limit drops happen before the counter is incremented and do not reduce your remaining quota.
If the filter-impact panel shows a large number of bot drops, that is a sign your site is receiving a lot of automated traffic. Those requests are not counted and do not consume your cap. Country drops indicate visits from countries you have excluded in your Filters settings. Event-limit drops indicate that a single IP address sent requests at a rate that exceeded the per-minute governor.
Troubleshooting
If your cap resets but the board still shows zero remaining, reload the page — the cycle dates may have rolled over and the tile is showing a cached count. If it persists after a reload, check your billing status in the Billing section.
If the quota bar is at 100% but you do not believe you have had that many real visitors, check the filter-impact panel. Quota drops are listed separately from bot and country drops. If the bot drop count is unexpectedly low, the bot filter may not have flagged the traffic — contact support.
